All candidates for First Reconciliation and First Communion are required to complete two years of preparation. The first year will take place in a regular faith formation classroom or at a Catholic school the child attends. The second year must take place at St. Matthew. A home school option is available, however candidates and parents are required to meet with the Director of Religious Education.
First Reconciliation preparation takes place in the first 6-8 weeks of the fall terms. First Communion preparation begins after the Christmas break ending with the Sacrament being conferred between the end of April and beginning of May depending on when Easter falls each year.
Only those children in the second year of sacramental preparation must complete this form.
