“The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life.” The other sacraments are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it.
For in the Eucharist is contained the spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself.
Children preparing for their First Reconciliation and Eucharist must be baptized Catholic. Sacramental preparation is a two-year process, beginning typically in First Grade. The celebrations of the sacraments occur typically in Second Grade. Children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in late November in a special service dedicated to just them. They receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist in late April or early May depending on when Easter falls. This mass celebration will take place on a Saturday morning, followed by a pancake brunch sponsored by our Ladies of St. Matthew and the Knights of Columbus.
