“The Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life.”
For in the Eucharist is contained the spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself. The other sacraments are bound up with the Eucharist and oriented toward it. We will carefully guide you and your child towards this special day in their Christian life.
Children preparing for their first Reconciliation and Eucharist must be baptized Catholic. Sacramental preparation is a two-year process, beginning typically in First Grade. The celebrations of the sacraments occur typically in Second Grade.
Children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in late November in a special service dedicated to just them. They receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist in late April or early May depending on when Easter falls. This mass celebration takes place on a Saturday morning followed by a Pancake Brunch sponsored by the Ladies of St. Matthew and the Knights of Columbus.
