You may be wondering if your marriage is recognized by the Catholic Church. The Church ordinarily requires baptized Catholics to marry before a priest or deacon. Unless they received a Catholic “Dispensation” and are married by ministers from another religious group or civil officials (Justice of the Peace).
Not to worry, for regardless of how you were married, the Catholic Church invites you and your spouse to embrace the blessing of marriage and dedicate your family’s mission to sharing God’s love like anyone else.

Church.”
